What We Do

Balanced Physical Therapy and Myofascial Release, LLC provides personalized therapy to individuals who desire a more holistic approach to care. With a self-pay, one-on-one, 75-105 minute treatment model, and an emphasis on manual therapy techniques, clients can improve from an injury quicker, maintain their level of wellness, and feel more balanced both physically and mentally. Often times, sessions are done in conjunction with more traditional modes of treatments to allow clients to reach their highest potential.

What is Myofascial Release?

Myofascial release is a very safe and effective hands-on technique that involves applying gently sustained pressure into connective tissue restrictions.

Trauma, inflammation, poor posture, and surgical procedures create myofascial restrictions that can produce extensive pressure on pain sensitive structures that do not show up on standard tests such as X-rays, CT scans, EMGs or mylograms.

Myofascial release is performed directly on the skin without oils or creams. This enables the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate the release of the fascia.

Some of the most common conditions treated include: low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, TMJ dysfunction, whiplash, plantarfascitis, sciatica, sinus problems and fibromyalgia/chronic pain.

What to Expect

During the first session, the physical therapist will review the client's medical history, complete a thorough assessment and determine the best course of treatment based on the client's information and assessment findings.  The client will then undergo a short treatment with follow up education/exercises.

Subsequent sessions are booked for 75-105 minutes.  This includes a full MFR treatment in addition to a hydromassage session.

Typically, client's are seen 1x/week for the first 2-4 weeks and as improvements are made, the time in between sessions increases.  Once client's have reached an optimal level of comfort and function, maintenance (also known as "tune ups") sessions are schedule once every 4-6 weeks on average.

For those individuals looking for stress relief, relaxation or a means to improve ones overall health and well being, sessions are booked as frequently as the client wishes.
